Some believe that the Sun is a representation of the higher self, while others see the Sun as a god to be worshipped. In India where this travel photograph was photographed the Sun is setting in over Jodhpur in India. Jodhpur which is Rajasthan's second-largest city, is known as the 'Blue City' because of the pale blue-painted narrow and tall houses of the jumbled and entrancing old part of the city, which are especially impressive when viewed from the Mehrangarh Fort.

As the day draws to an end
The sunset is a great time to take a break and appreciate the beauty of nature. As the day draws to an end, most of us look to the sky and take in the beauty of the setting Sun. Sunsets are an incredible natural phenomenon that can inspire awe and wonder in even the most jaded of observers. Whether you find yourself in the middle of a bustling city or in a remote mountain range, the sight of a stunning sunset is something that can take your breath away.

A sunset is created when direct sunlight is blocked by the Earth's atmosphere. As the sun passes below the horizon, its rays are scattered by the atmosphere, creating a beautiful orange, red and purple glow in the sky. The intensity of the sunset is determined by the amount of particulates in the air, such as dust and smoke. This is why sunsets can vary greatly from place to place, with some offering up vivid, vibrant colors and others more subdued. Sunsets can be an incredibly calming and peaceful experience. There is something about watching the Sun slowly dip below the horizon that can bring a sense of calm and tranquility. Many people find that watching the sunset can be a great way to wind down after a long day and settle into the evening.

The beauty of a sunset is not just limited to the visual aspect. Sunsets can also be incredibly therapeutic. Watching the sun dip below the horizon can be a great way to take a break from the stress of the day and clear your mind. Sunsets can even be used as a form of meditation, as the simple act of watching the sun can be incredibly calming. Sunsets also have a deep and spiritual significance for many cultures around the world, with some viewing the setting of the Sun as a symbolic death, followed by a new beginning. For some, the beauty of a sunset is a reminder of the power and majesty of nature and the need to appreciate and protect it.

No matter where you find yourself, a sunset is an experience that can take your breath away. Whether you are looking for a moment of calm or a reminder of the power of nature, watching the sun dip below the horizon is always a beautiful experience.

The Aravalli Range in India
The Aravalli Range, an eroded stub of ancient mountains, is the oldest range of fold mountains in India. The natural history of the Aravalli Range dates back to times when the Indian Plate was separated. The Aravalli Range is a northeast-southwest trending orogenic belt that is located in the northwestern part of Indian Peninsula. It is part of the Indian Shield that was formed from a series of cratonic collisions. In ancient times, Aravalli were extremely high but since have worn down almost completely by millions of years of weathering, whereas the Himalayas being young fold mountains are still continuously rising. Aravalli, being the old fold mountains, have stopped growing higher due to the cessation of upward thrust caused by the stopping of movement of the tectonic plates in the earth's crust below them.

Mountains are generally less preferable for human habitation than lowlands, because of harsh weather and little level ground suitable for agriculture. Mountains symbolize constancy, eternity, firmness and stillness. Many ancient cultures considered the mountain the 'Center of the World'. It often serves as a cosmic axis linking heaven and earth and providing order to the universe.

"The mountain is thought to contain divine inspiration and it is the focus of pilgrimages of transcendence and spiritual elevation. It is a universal symbol of the nearness of God, as it surpasses ordinary humanity and extends toward the sky and the heavens"
